Who thinks the sequels to classic Disney Movies suck?
I've had enough with these dumb sequels to our beloved cherished Disney classics that we grew up with through generations.Once I saw the new DVD release for the sequel to Sleeping Beauty, I completely gagged at the thought. Our once classy,soprano-singing princess has turned to a pop nightmare!
I think they are ridiculous. The whole idea of a fairytale is that it brings out your imagination too. There is nothing left to dream about when all the "what ifs..." are answered (and answered crappy in my opinion). I will not watch them, I refuse to watch them, and don't even acknowledge the exist most of the time!

Ken Gillam and Shannon R. Wooden do an excellent job of dissecting Disney's new character invention, the “New Man”. The authors state that this “New Man” concept contradicts the old stereotype of a heroic, masculine lead role in classic Disney movies and replaces them with a more sensitive, feminine male character. This is the main argument in the article, and they clearly have the evidence to prove it. Using Disney/Pixar movies such as Toy Story (primarily), The Incredibles, and Cars as examples of this new type of character development, Gillam and Wooden explain what's really going on with the seemingly heroic male leads. Woody and Buzz have never looked so girly with the analysis done by the authors. This article was written from a humanities standpoint, with perhaps some social or psychological backgrounds.
Best two Disney movies ever made.
