How do you find the area of an irregular polygon?
Like this shape
http://intermath.coe.uga.edu/dictnary/images/polygon/irpoly.gif
except, the area thing were doing uses grids like this
http://www.spaceforspecies.ca/educators_guide/images_e/dot_grid.jpg
and each line segment is one unit, and a whole square of them isone square unit.
thx so much.
Count how many squares the polygon covers. Count any squares covered by the polygon which is more than or equal to half of the square and ignore those covered by the polygon which is less than half. This gives an estimate of the area of the polygon.

I really liked the McCormack show – it seems ages since I've seen any of her work and, unlike Baker, I think that it's superb. I just previewed the show on Amish quilts at the De Young and just about any painter that uses grids or geometric forms looks second rate right now.
Y!A doesn't like long stuff.
I cut out some of your comments
added colons on the label lines
changed your call statements to gosubs
and
voila it seems to work fine.
