I babysat a 6 month year old for the first time and he fell off his diaper changing station and hit his head?

i had him laying on his changing station and he was playing with his pacifier and i turned around to pick up the diaper he threw about 1 foot away and when i had turned around within 30 seconds i saw him falling mid air and land on his back. i'm pretty sure he bumped his head on a drawer knob but i didnt see it for sure. he cried immediatly and there were no injuries elsewhere. i held him and rocked him and stroked his head [ no bumps, bruising, swelling, redness etc]. he stopped crying within 5 minutes and seemed fine after that. it was my first time with him so i wasnt able to notice any huge changes in behavior but nothing seemed out of the ordinary from what other babysitters of his have told me. i didnt sleep last night because i'm so guilty. i've been praying and havn't told anyone. any advice?

If it makes you feel better that happened to me while I was watching my little sister. However she ended up having a slightly fractured skull. It healed on it's own and she is a bright 11 year old now. You must sit down with the parents and tell them what happened. There are so many things that could happen that may not have immediate symptoms and they need to get their little one to the doctor. Just be honest about what happened. I'm sure they will be mad and probably wont allow you to babysit anymore but at least you will have a clear conscious and they can get the baby checked out.
