crocheters, is Carron brand Acrylic yarn okay for Baby Blankets?
My sister left a lot of yarn from when she lived here. I used the lion brand pound of love to make a blanket with the pattern on it and it came out good. Now I want to make another with this carron brand yarn she left; it is acrylic but it does not say baby. However, I know the yarn store once told me to buy this sports weight yarn that was not baby yarn for another blanket I made and it came out great!
Yeah - acrylic is hypoallergenic, so it;s okay for babies. Caron usually isn't too scratchy, but it's kind of cheap, so it won't last forever. Baby and sport just means that the yarn is thinner. You probably have worsted weight, and that just means that the yarn is thick - 4 strands. It's fine for baby - it's just not light and the finished product will look "fat."
