Where can you fish at night in the Cocoa Beach area?
I don't want to go too far north or south, so right in the Cocoa Beach or Merritt Island area is good. The thing is, Brevard parks all close at dark. So the only place I know to go are shore fishing off the beach, or right along the inter-coastal off the Banana River and Indian River. Looking for something calm.
Here's a forum discussion of just what you're asking. One of the entries says that the Cocoa Beach pier might be open til midnight. That entry was back in 2005 though. According to the forum the main reason for the lack of access is because so much crime was taking place down on the beach. It looks like they me be limiting access in an attempt to protect you. If you do check out the piers at night remember to fish the shadow lines. Big fish love to wait in the dark for dinner to cross from light to dark. If your lure or bait does the same thing you can trick them at their own game.
