What are your favorite small Yard Sale finds - like jewelry, crafts etc ?
My friend is planning at yard sale, and many of us participating (may be about 5 or 6) craft, paint etc... Do you shop Yard Sales for hand crafted items such as jewelry, tote bags etc.... I plan on making most of my items as I don't have a lot of old stuff.
Would you buy (affordable) hand crafted items? Like what and how much would you pay?
My friends and I did a Yard Sale a few years ago and were able to get up to $15 for our high-quality handmade (some with Swarovski etc) necklaces, $5-10 for bracelets. And $5 for neat purses/totes.
I'm thinking of doing some paintings on canvas or wood.
We will do boutiques near the Holidays, but we're just getting back into the crafting mode, while we clean out our garages. The think about boutiques though, you sometimes have to pay a hefty fee.
But like I said, we'll be doing both. Just starting with the Garage Sale for now.
You are better off trying to find craft fairs in your area where you can sell handmade items. People who shop at yard sales don't want to spend alot of money for anything. The jewelry with the swarovski crystals would have gotten you alot more money at a craft fair. People that shop these fairs know that handmade items cost more because of the time and cost involved in making these things, and appreciate the quality they get in return. Sorry but, I don't want you to sell yourself short.
